Reading 

Reading Workshop: Students learn and practice comprehension skills and strategies through class read alouds, guided reading, shared reading, and independent reading.

Math 

Students learn from the Common Core aligned curriculum, Eureka Math. Eureka Math -also known as EngageNY- is a complete pre-K through 12 curriculum that carefully sequences the mathematical progressions into expertly crafted modules.

Module 1: Place Value, Rounding, & Algorithms for Addition and Subtraction

Module 2:  Unit Conversions and Problem Solving with Metric Measurements

Module 3: Multi-digit Multiplication and Division

Module 4: Angle Measure and Plane Figures

Science and Social Studies (SciSo)

Science and Social Studies alternate throughout the year. The class will be begin the year with a Social Studies unit that will be followed by a science unit. The emphasis of the units will be on how to learn while at the same time covering 4th grade Next Generation Science Standards and 4th grade Colorado State Standards for Social Studies.

Writing 

Writing Workshop: Students learn and write in a variety of narrative and non-narrative genres. Through writing, students develop grammar skills.
Daily Language Instruction: Students study word patterns, high frequency words, and vocabulary. Students study capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
